Augsburg (18 March 2006)
Augsburg is a city named for the Roman emperor Augustus, founded in 16BC and is located west of Munich, about an hour's drive away. A strategic location on the trade routes to Italy, it grew at a very fast rate until the Thirty-Years War (1618-1648). The city is probably most famous for Der Goldene Saal, a room in the top of the Rathaus with a golden roof.
