Olympiapark and BMW Museum (19 February 2006)

Munich's Olympic Park. Built for thr 1972 Summer Olympics held here in Munich, and recently featured in Steven Spielberg's "Munich", where Israeli athletes were killed by Palestinian terrorists.

The unique design of this park centers on the steel net design that blankets the area. Some people like it, some people don't. The area consists of the Olympic Stadium, Olympic Hall, Olympic Swimming Hall, Olympic Event Hall and the Olympiaturm (Olympic Tower).

Also, more pics when in a slightly later post.

Next up is the BMW Museum. As you may or may not know, BMW stands for Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, which translates to Bavarian Motor Works. Yes, Munich is the international headquarters of BMW because this is where it all started. The BMW Museum is closed for renovation till 2007 I think, so this is just the makeshift one. The original is right beside the BMW Tower.
