Downtown Munich
OK, here's what many of you ladies out there are interested in, the main shopping district! Basically, its the stretch from Karlsplatz to Marienplatz (pronounced Marin-platz), although Marienplatz is generally known as the city center.
So here's the view, starting from Karlsplatz:

Everyone's "favourite" restaurant

Karlstor, the gate to the city

Inside Michalskirche (Michael's Church), quite typical of the churches here

The Frauenkirche, no building within the city can be taller than this (100m), by law

Streetside artist

This is the Neu Rathaus (New City Hall), Gothic-style

I thought this shop's logo is interesting :D

The Hauptbahnhof (Central Train Station)

Typical Bavarian Souvenirs sold here

National Theatre, next to the Munich Residenz

A view of the Munich Residenz, official Residence of the Bavarian Kings

Dogs here can be sooooooo cool...

On Saturdays, the place is really crowded because everyone is out shopping. The law states that shops are to follow the Christian Sabbath Day, so they are not allowed to open, except for tourist attractions and eateries. That's why everyone does their shopping on Saturday.
